February 28th is World Spay Day. The day is designed to make people aware of the importance of spaying/neutering pets.

Great, June Buggie, but why are you mentioning it NOW?

Because participating clinics are providing low-cost spay/neuter services throughout the month.

There’s also a pet photo contest.  Want to enter a picture of your pet?  You can do so here.

Want to find out what events are planned in YOUR country?  Click here (US events can be found here).

Here in Tennessee, less than half of the 95 counties have an animal shelter.  And the counties that do have shelters have higher kill rates than the national average.  It’s humane to spay/neuter your animals so there are fewer animals that have to die.  Pure and simple.
